Sancti Spíritus records Cuba’s lowest infant mortality rate

Sancti Spíritus reports an infant mortality rate of 2.7 per 1,000 live births today—a figure that places the province at the forefront of the country in safeguarding life and reflects the results of sustained efforts in maternal and newborn care.

Frank García González, head of the local Maternal and Child Health Program (PAMI), highlighted that this figure is the result of the daily efforts of doctors, nurses, and families in supporting every pregnancy. “The reality is that infant mortality outcomes have been satisfactory.”
