Arboviral diseases under control in Sancti Spíritus
Health authorities are keeping arboviral diseases under control in Sancti Spíritus; none of the province’s eight municipalities or health zones are reporting transmission of dengue or other diseases associated with the *Aedes aegypti* mosquito, despite conditions being favorable for its proliferation at this time of year.
Yurien Negrín Calvo, deputy director of the Provincial Center for Hygiene, highlighted the positive epidemiological indicators and the health services’ response to the emergence of suspected febrile cases.
“Currently, the province is not experiencing transmission of dengue or other arboviral diseases in any of its municipalities or health zones. However, as is typical for this time of year, we are beginning to see an increase in febrile syndromes, consistent with seasonal patterns.”
