Preparations for the start of the school year in Sancti Spíritus
To assess the human, material, and financial preparations for the start of the 2026–2027 school year—scheduled for this coming September 1st—the provincial General Directorate of Education began a tour of each municipality in Sancti Spíritus this Tuesday, running through the 21st.
During these visits, each territory is evaluating the priorities and objectives outlined in specific strategies derived from the 2026 Economic and Social Development Program, as well as the implementation of sector-specific measures drawn from the 176 measures established by national leadership.
According to Andrei Armas Bravo, General Director of Education in Sancti Spíritus, key priorities include ensuring the organization of school-year opening ceremonies in every municipality and the communication strategy for the start of the term. Also under review are staffing levels—covering teachers, management personnel, methodologists, and officials across all educational levels and types—and the status of implementing the new organizational structure within the municipal General Directorates of Education.
Furthermore, the education official emphasized that they would conduct a case-by-case assessment of staffing status regarding management personnel, methodologists, officials, and non-management leaders; approved teaching staff levels for each educational tier; positions filled without the need for alternative staffing solutions; and total staffing needs, including those met through alternative arrangements or specific staffing strategies.
