Solemn Assembly celebrated the 512th anniversary of Trinidad, Cuba
The Solemn Session of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power, held this Sunday to commemorate the 512th anniversary of the founding of the town of Trinidad, was dedicated to the centennial of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
Delegates, dignitaries, and guests gathered at the La Caridad Theater, where they evoked the spirit of the Commander-in-Chief and the deep ties that always bound him to this city and its residents, who remain steadfast in their commitment to preserving their built and cultural heritage.
Accompanied by cherished symbols of local history, traditional songs, and performances by other artists, the Assembly agreed to award the Sole Prize for the Arts to Magalis de Jesús Ramírez Placeres, a master craftswoman with a long history of service within the governing body, having served as delegate and president of the La Purísima People’s Council and as a member of parliament.
The Solemn Session also presented the replica of the Manaca Iznaga Tower, one of the symbols of Trinidad, to the Municipal Directorate of Education, with positive results during the last stage of work.
