Sancti Spíritus will honor the son this May 8th

Son, a musical expression born in the late 19th century, will be honored in Sancti Spíritus on May 8th, its Day in Cuba, in tribute to the Santiago-born composer Miguel Matamoros.

A grand celebration will bring together musicians, dancers, and the general public at various locations throughout the province, according to Dayanny Porcegués Valle, communications officer for the Provincial Center of Houses of Culture in Sancti Spíritus.

Son in Cuba is an expression of resistance, history, and tradition. Each beat takes us back to our most authentic national roots.
