Sancti Spíritus Once Again, have lived up to their Glorious History
A representation of the people of Sancti Spiritus gathered this Friday, July 26, at the Serafin Sanchez Valdivia Revolution Square in Sancti Spiritus for the national ceremony marking the 71st anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Barracks.
The occasion was propitious to recognize the work of the province to obtain the headquarters of such an important event.
The ceremony was presided over by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, the Commander of the Revolution and assailant of the Moncada, Ramiro Valdés and José Ramón Machado Ventura, Commander of the Rebel Army. In addition, the first secretary of the Party and member of the Central Committee Deivy Pérez Martín and the governor of the province Alexis Lorente.
This is the third occasion in which Sancti Spíritus celebrates the 26th anniversary.
The Plaza de la Revolución gathered more than 5 thousand people from Sancti Spíritus and about 140 friends of solidarity from 25 nations, also activists of the Juan Rius Rivera Brigade from Puerto Rico.
