With a strategy focused on prevention, timely diagnosis, and strict patient management, the health system in Sancti Spíritus is intensifying its efforts to combat diabetes mellitus, a disease that places the province as the territory with the highest prevalence in the country.

Dr. Olgunca Indira Luis Julién, head of the Endocrinology Department at the Camilo Cienfuegos Provincial Hospital, emphasized that the care program prioritizes clinical follow-up in the community to reduce associated complications and improve people’s quality of life.
