Friends of Cuba to participate in May Day Celebrations

About 627 friends of Cuba, from 31 nations, will join the celebrations that the largest of the Antilles will develop in salute to May Day, International Workers’ Day.

Fernando Gonzalez Llort, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), said today at a press conference that between April 21 and May 5, the 18th edition of the International May Day Brigade will be in the Caribbean country for its 238 members to visit labor centers in the capital and exchange with the communities.

The Che Guevara Brigade from Canada, whose 42 members will celebrate their 30 years of existence on Cuban soil, will also participate.

He highlighted that the brigadistas of the Primero de Mayo Brigade will go to the central province of Cienfuegos, while the Canadian friends will be in Pinar del Río to learn about the socioeconomic reality of the archipelago.
