Ecos del Norte Musical Group

Ecos del Norte is a musical collective dedicated to Mexican northern music and is integrated by 5 musicians (2 guitars, bass, accordion and drums) and enjoys national acceptance and popularity.

The 20th century was coming to an end and a group of young fans, lovers of the culture of the sister Aztec nation, decided to venture into Regional Mexican music, and thus began to take their first steps.

For the people from Sancti Spíritus, the mariachis and soloists of Mexican music are well known, but this more current genre, which was initiated by the kings of northern music “Los Tigres del Norte“, had no precedent in the province. It could be said that these four young men were the pioneers in Sancti Spiritus in cultivating northern music, played with accordion, guitar, electric bass and drums.

Years went by as amateurs and in 2001 they became professional and decided to name the group “Ecos del Norte“, following the Mexican tradition of always making allusion to the north of the country, since it is in this region where this genre was born and where it is most cultivated.
