Museum Network Offers Engaging Opportunities for Dialogue with the Public in Sancti Spíritus
The Doll Festival one of the most anticipated summer events at the Sancti Spíritus Museum of Colonial Art is joined by other popular gatherings. This was announced to Radio Sancti Spíritus by Luis Ángel Cruz, a communications specialist with the Municipal Department of Culture. Another important contest takes place during this time as well: “Fashions, Ways, and Times.”
People participate by bringing an item from home that is part of their family heritage—such as an oil lamp or an antique lantern—and sharing its story: how it has survived to the present day, how it is cared for, and how it forms part of the heritage we treasure in our homes. These activities all take place in the arcaded courtyard of the Museum of Colonial Art.
The other museums located in the city of Sancti Spíritus also engage with the public through various offerings. We plan to close out the summer season at the Natural History Museum with an event that has enjoyed long-standing popularity: “My Favorite Pet.”
Children bring their pets and share their stories—how they love and care for them—highlighting the friendly relationship we can have with the natural world and the importance of getting involved in its preservation.
Most of us have a beloved animal companion at home, and at this event, they take center stage.
