With military honors and the moving presence of thousands of Cubans, the mortal remains of Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez were interred this Thursday at the Las Villas Front Mausoleum, located within the Commander Ernesto Che Guevara Sculptural Complex in Santa Clara. With this event, the historic revolutionary fulfilled his final wish: to rest alongside the “Heroic Guerrilla” and his comrades-in-arms.
The ceremony was presided over by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, who delivered the farewell remarks in a tribute filled with symbolism and emotion.
