Tunas de Zaza Wildlife Refuge, where conservation means life

Located on the southern coast of Sancti Spíritus province, the Tunas de Zaza Wildlife Refuge is one of the geographical areas of exceptional interest within the Lomas de Banao Basic Business Unit.

It encompasses a very fragile and diverse coastal ecosystem, rich in flora and fauna, which also includes a significant portion of the Zaza River basin.

Protecting and, at the same time, fostering a habitat with ideal conditions for its development is the key to a series of conservation actions along a 10-kilometer stretch, from the Zaza delta to the coast, including its lagoons.
