Installing new modules will help relieve pressure on the National Electric System
The approximately 115 photovoltaic modules currently being installed in vital centers in the province of Sancti Spíritus will generate about 300 kWh per month each, a capacity that will guarantee greater stability in essential services amidst the complex electrical energy scenario the country is experiencing.
According to Darío Peña Cuenca, commercial director of the Sancti Spíritus Electric Company, the progressive incorporation of these solar systems not only reduces dependence on the national grid but also demonstrates a commitment to renewable energy sources.
“These modules will cover the basic needs of these facilities. They are 2 kW modules that will generate approximately 10 kWh of energy per day and 300 kWh per month. This will power lights, some fans, and perhaps some computer systems in the offices, but it will cover the basics and undoubtedly improve the vitality and operation of these facilities.”
According to the commercial director of the Sancti Spíritus Electric Company, the protection of certain circuits is maintained today in order to guarantee the functioning of vital institutions, while the installation of the new photovoltaic modules is progressing as an alternative that, gradually, will help to relieve the pressure on the National Electric System.
