A posthumous tribute to Cuban combatants who died in Venezuela

This Thursday, January 15, 2026, the mortal remains of the 32 combatants who heroically fell during the criminal attack perpetrated by the United States government against the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela will arrive in the homeland.

In a military ceremony at Havana’s José Martí International Airport, they will receive the first posthumous tribute. Afterward, they will be transported along Rancho Boyeros Avenue to the headquarters of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces. During this procession, a group of people, gathered on both sides of the avenue, will pay their respects to the fallen.

Starting at 10:00 a.m. on January 15, the public will be able to access the headquarters of the Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, where the mortal remains of our combatants will be on display.

On Friday, January 16, at 7:30 a.m., Havana residents will gather at the José Martí Anti-Imperialist Tribune for the ceremony that will kick off the March of the Fighting People, reaffirming their commitment to the nation.

At 9:00 a.m. that same Friday, commemorative ceremonies will be held in all provincial capitals. At 4:00 p.m., the deceased will be laid to rest in the pantheons of those who died defending their respective towns. All municipalities throughout the country will hold posthumous tributes.
