Raúl Castro and Miguel Díaz-Canel preside over National Act for July 26th in Sancti Spíritus

A representation of the people of Sancti Spiritus is present this Friday, July 26 at the Serafin Sanchez Valdivia Revolution Square in Sancti Spiritus for the national ceremony marking the 71st anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Barracks.

The occasion is propitious to recognize the work of the province to obtain the headquarters of such an important event.

The ceremony was presided over by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, the Commander of the Revolution and assailant of the Moncada, Ramiro Valdés and José Ramón Machado Ventura, Commander of the Rebel Army. In addition, the first secretary of the Party and member of the Central Committee Deivy Pérez Martín and the governor of the province Alexis Lorente.

In a square decorated as never before, the people of Sancti Spíritus gathered in this third occasion in which Sancti Spíritus celebrates the 26th anniversary.

The Revolution Square gathers more than 5 thousand people from Sancti Spíritus and about 140 friends of solidarity from 25 nations. Activists of the Juan Rius Rivera Brigade, from Puerto Rico, are also present.

Deivy Pérez Martín, First Secretary of the Party in Sancti Spíritus and member of the Central Committee of the Party informed that numerous constructive actions are being promoted which have allowed the improvement of infrastructure and services in sectors such as education, health, culture, sports, tourism, agriculture, commerce, communications and aqueducts.

The infant mortality rate is 3.09 per thousand live births, an indicator that reflects the deep commitment to health in defense of the most sacred.

“The life of our children has been a priority in the fulfillment of the action plan to correct distortions and reimpulse the economy in the year two thousand twenty-four. We are working on the reduction of the budget deficit, the increase of income and foreign currency. The relations between the different actors of the economy, the production of food, the price policy and the confrontation of all the distortions that may still exist”, he added.
