Young man from Sancti Spíritus among the World Science Prize winners
The young professor and researcher from the José Martí Pérez University of Sancti Spíritus, Dr. Carlos Lázaro Jiménez Puerto, is among the World Science Awards for Research and Scientific Products, which will be presented at the official closing ceremony of the 11th edition of AFIDE 2025, an event organized by the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation of Cuba (INDER).
This was announced exclusively to Radio Sancti Spíritus by Dr. Orlando Terré Camacho, president of the World Council of Academics and University Researchers (COMAU), who added that the special award, unanimously granted, was given to the research work of Carlos Lázaro Jiménez Puerto, a member of COMAU LATAM and a professor at the Sancti Spíritus university.
“This award dignifies education, it redefines the work of young people in the field of science, and it is, of course, representative.”
The renowned Cuban academic and researcher Terré Camacho acknowledged the dedication to scientific and research work of Carlos Lázaro Jiménez Puerto, a professor at the University of Sancti Spíritus, who earned this recognition for his academic and scientific work presented at this event.
From the nation’s capital, the President of the World Council of University Academics and Researchers (COMAU) congratulated Carlos Lázaro, the University, and Sancti Spíritus on this award, a high honor and privilege for the Cuban nation and beyond, because it elevates the status of scientific work in Cuba with this 2025 World Science Prize awarded by COMAU.
