Yayabociencia 2025 International Scientific Conference concludes in Trinidad
The rector of the University of Sancti Spíritus José Martí Pérez, Dr. C. Edelvy Bravo Amarante, described as a success the XIII Yayabociencia 2025 International Scientific Conference, which closed this Friday at the Meliá Trinidad Península Hotel.
Over three fruitful days of work, the convention was characterized by an in-depth academic debate, attended by nearly 400 national and international speakers, most of them in person, who shared valuable experiences in different areas of knowledge.
“The convention’s theme: Science, innovation, and development at the service of society, was well represented, as topics related to sustainable development, energy efficiency, renewable energy, public policies, educational sciences, among other topics were discussed, all highly relevant to the development that Cuba needs today,” he stated.
The Student Forum was also very positive, with the participation of young people from various Cuban and other universities. It demonstrated that scientific activity, as well as technological innovation, are present and active in the educational process at Cuban universities.
The convention ratified the intention and consensus that Latin America must be a zone of peace, and the call for the IX International Scientific Conference, scheduled for 2027, was announced.
The closing ceremony of Yayabociencia 2025 featured a masterful closing lecture “Professional Competencies and Skills Based on the Cuban Model of Science, Technology, and Innovation,” given by Dr. C. Orlando Terré Camacho, President of the World Council of University Scholars and Researchers for Latin America.
A solemn moment during the closing ceremony of this convention was the granting of honorary membership to the Rector of the University of Sancti Spiritus, and the awarding of honorary membership to the renowned Professor Dr. C. Carlos Lázaro Jiménez Puerto, both for their recognized participation in the highest-ranking scientific events.
