Yaguajay prioritizes the production of natural pharmaceuticals

Although at the present stage the Natural and Traditional Medicine Laboratory of Yaguajay is not able to produce all its assortments, due to the lack of raw material, this month it is prioritizing the elaboration of tinctures, fluid extracts and dry drugs.

This was explained to radio Cecilia Luis Vásquez, the entity’s main specialist, who added that among the tinctures produced are those of anamu, indigo and brown and propolis at 5 and 10 percent, which have antifungal, anti-inflammatory and healing properties, respectively.

Likewise, he explained that in the case of fluid extracts, those of rosemary and caña santa stand out, which are appropriate for treating gastric damage and respiratory and skin infections.

These medicines, emphasized the same source, are antihypertensive, antiseptic, antiulcer, antifungal and antibacterial.

The main specialist of the Laboratory of Natural and Traditional Medicine of northern Cuba said that all the products reach the 31 pharmacies of the territory and are in high demand by consumers.
