Trinidad resumes lecture series on history, heritage, and cultural management
The lecture series “Architecture, Urbanism, History, and Cultural-Heritage Management of the City” has resumed in Trinidad, distinguished by the exceptional value of its subject matter and the expertise of the speakers.
On this occasion, the presentation focuses on the regional history of Trinidad. Led by Bárbara Oneida Venegas Arboláez, the talk is structured in two parts due to the extensive content to be covered: the first takes place in the last week of September, and the second is scheduled for the same time next month.
The researcher’s presentation covers 12 topics, tracing the various eras Trinidad has experienced—from the Spanish conquest through to the revolutionary period.
Researchers, specialists from cultural institutions, and artists are participating in this forum, which is organized by the Office of the Conservator of the City of Trinidad and the Valley of the Sugar Mills. The initiative aims to bring together the locality’s most distinguished voices to update studies and action plans focused on preserving historical memory.
This series of lectures began between March and June with a program on the architecture and urban planning of Trinidad within its Hispanic, Spanish-American, Caribbean, and Cuban contexts, presented by Dr. Alicia García Santana.
The series will conclude on the last Wednesday of November with the third topic—cultural and heritage management in Trinidad—presented by museologist and researcher Victor Echenagusia Peña.
