The “Between Threads, Wings, and Brushes” craft project, led by painter Yudit Vidal Faife from Trinidad, has been granted a permanent space at the Casa de la Obra Pía Museum in Havana. The news was announced with the opening of the exhibition “Parallel Weavings,” her third show at the museum.
This honor is the award bestowed by the Havana Historian’s Office upon the artist, whose work was first exhibited there in 2015. The Carmen Montilla Gallery, the Casa de México, La Acacia, the Alicia Alonso Theater’s exhibition hall, and other cultural institutions have also hosted the artist’s creations.
The announcement of the permanent space at the Casa de la Obra Pía Museum for the “Between Threads, Wings, and Brushes” project coincides with the celebrations for the 506th anniversary of the city of San Cristóbal de La Habana. “Parallel Weavings” is Yudit and her artisans’ gift.
