Seed Farm in Yaguajay municipality

Located in the fertile lands of Batey Colorado, the Yanet Ojeda Seed Farm, part of the urban agriculture system of the Valle del Caonao Agroindustrial Company in the municipality of Yaguajay, serves as a nursery for the seeds that will nourish the land and produce food.

In its raised beds and furrows, which cover nearly ten hectares, grow lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes, corn, soybeans, black and red beans, and other crops, all intended to provide seeds for local farmers.

A newly installed system will unlock the potential of the site, where the use of technologies such as organic fertilizers and projects including vermiculture will benefit the purpose of the Yanet Ojeda Seed Farm, part of the urban agriculture system of the Valle del Caonao Agroindustrial Company.
