Sancti Spíritus University for preserving its educational processes
Faced with the complex energy situation in Cuba, exacerbated by the tightening of the U.S. blockade, the José Martí University of Sancti Spíritus is prioritizing the continuity of educational processes across all its programs, implementing pedagogical strategies that ensure the quality of the teaching and learning process.
Dr. Sarai Delgado Farfán, from the Department of Special Education, explained that study guides have been designed for each subject, allowing students to progress independently, with regular exchanges with professors and consultation of bibliographies. “Research has been ongoing, and new projects have emerged as a result of this process, because we have had to find alternatives,” she noted.
A prime example of adaptation and continuity is the “Communication with Inclusion” outreach project of the Speech Therapy program, which has extended its work to various communities throughout the province of Sancti Spíritus. According to Dr. Delgado Farfán, students provide treatment to children with language disorders in special education schools, primary schools, and preschools in their own communities.
