Sancti Spíritus transportation prioritizes services with greater social impact
Faced with fuel shortages, the transportation sector in Sancti Spíritus is implementing new measures that modify national, intercity, and local services, prioritizing essential mobility for the population and ensuring the continuity of strategic activities.
José Lorenzo García, Director General of Transportation for the Provincial People’s Power Administration, reported that the daily departure of National Buses to Havana at 1:00 a.m. will continue, while all other trips to the capital and other destinations have been suspended.
Passengers with reservations on canceled services will receive a full refund within 30 days. The waiting list and the sale of last-minute tickets have been eliminated.
Regarding the railway, the director clarified that national trains will run every eight days, with a stop at the Guayos station, while all service from Sancti Spíritus to Havana has been suspended.
Furthermore, the train and bus service to the Tunas de Zaza Community in the municipality of Sancti Spíritus will cease, and the intercity rail link service for both trains and railcars within the province will be cancelled.
