Sancti Spíritus returns to the plaza in the Anti-Imperialist Tribune for peace, justice and against the blockade

The political and mass organizations of the province are calling on all the people of Sancti Spíritus to an open anti-imperialist forum this Monday, May 25th. The event will take place at 7:00 a.m. in the Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Serafín Sánchez Valdivia, where the people of this land will gather early to raise their voices with the dignity that characterizes the province.

The central reason for the mobilization is to strongly condemn the unjust decision by the United States Department of Justice to attempt to prosecute Army General Raúl Castro Ruz. The people of Sancti Spíritus consider this act an unacceptable threat against Cuba, an affront that will be rejected with the firmness of those who defend their heroes and do not yield to foreign pressure.

Likewise, those gathered in Serafín Sánchez Square will strongly support the declaration issued by the Cuban Revolutionary Government, which denounces the illegal campaign of threats unleashed against our country. The arbitrary inclusion of Cuba on a list that labels it a threat to the national security of the United States deserves special condemnation. Cuba poses no danger whatsoever to that nation; on the contrary, it is a peaceful people. But it is also a people prepared to defend its sovereignty to the very end.

The gathering, also part of the commemoration of the 95th birthday of the Army General, has the active support of the Union of Young Communists, student organizations, youth movements, and other mass organizations in the province. It will be an expression of unity and unwavering loyalty to the historical leadership of the Revolution, condemning both the attempt to prosecute the leaders of the nation and the criminal blockade policy that is suffocating the daily lives of Cubans.

With Revolution Square as a backdrop, the invitation is open to all workers, students, young people, and families of Sancti Spíritus. This Monday at 7:00 a.m., Sancti Spíritus will demonstrate once again that dignity is non-negotiable, that truth is defended with pride, and that when it comes to protecting sovereignty, the heart of Cuba beats strongly from the Yayabo River.
