Sancti Spíritus held National Defense Day in Banao

The province of Sancti Spíritus held the main activities for National Defense Day at the Banao Zone Council, located in the provincial capital municipality.

Reservists, militia members, workers, and local residents participated in the event, which was led by the President of the Provincial Defense Council, Deivy Pérez Martín, and the Vice President, Dr. Alexis Lorente Jiménez. The exercise involved activating command and control bodies, as well as drills to test established procedures for exceptional situations.

Live-fire exercises, grenade-throwing drills, and tactical maneuvers were carried out. Drills involving air raid alerts, movement to shelters, and medical response for the injured also took place.

The program encompassed tasks related to the protection of economic and social assets, logistical support, and the participation of Production and Defense Brigades.

The activity made it possible to evaluate coordination among the participating entities, the readiness of the forces, and the plans designed to maintain essential services and protect the population.
