Sancti Spíritus defends the sustainability of the MountainPlan

The mountainous community of Las Cuavas, part of the El Pedrero People’s Council of the Municipality of Sancti Spiritus, was the chosen setting to celebrate the 38th anniversary of the founding of the Comprehensive Project for the Care of Mountain Regions, known as the Turquino-Manatí Plan, a program promoted by the commander of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
Chaired by the first secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, and with the presence of Máximo Alonso Meneses, who traveled through the Manatí region with Che Guevara in 1958, the event was an opportune moment to remember how the revolution once scaled each mountain range, becoming a permanent source of social achievements and dignified dreams.
The Turquino Plan movement in the province has been continuously monitored by both the government and party authorities, and given the conditions we have and the resources we have today, we have tried to maintain all possible services in these areas.
