Sancti Spíritus is the most outstanding province in the cuban sugar sector

For its comprehensive results, which include fulfilling the sugar production plan, exceeding the estimated delivery of electricity to the National Electric Power System, and managing to plant more sugarcane to date compared to the previous year, Sancti Spíritus was recognized as the most outstanding province in the sector in the country.

This was highlighted at the national Sugar Workers’ Day event held this Sunday at the Paraíso distillery in the Taguasquense community of Tuinucú, where the Melanio Hernández sugar mill is also located. The men and women of the industry, despite the most adverse conditions, continue to promote the production of sugarcane, even though the results fall far short of the economy’s needs, according to a report by the Cuban News Agency.
