Rice growers from La Sierpe seek to make up for delays in Spring Planting Season

The rice growers of the Sur del Jíbaro Rice Agroindustrial Complex, in the municipality of La Sierpe, are committed to add to the spring planting program the 2,600 hectares that were left pending from the previous campaign in order to advance in the productive revival of the cereal.

This implies completing at this stage some 9,600 hectares of grain to meet the technical-economic plan for the year, according to the directors of the entity.

As part of this effort, they achieved something atypical by bringing forward more than 1,000 planted hectares between March and April, an effort that they intend to expand in May and which is directly related to the availability of water to ensure germination.
