Reservoirs in Sancti Spíritus remain thirsty

At the close of the first quarter of the year, the reservoirs in Sancti Spíritus province remain in a precarious situation, with only 22 percent of their storage capacity filled, according to data provided by the Provincial Delegation of Hydraulic Resources.

Francisco Hernández Lorenzo, technical director of the Hydraulic Resources Management Company, specified that at the end of March, “265.5 million cubic meters of water were stored out of a total capacity of 1,209 million. This includes the Zaza reservoir, our main reservoir, which is storing a low volume of water, at only 17%, or 157.7 million cubic meters, out of its current capacity of 920 million.”
