Railroads and locomotives are being rehabilitated to benefit isolated communities

In the province of Sancti Spíritus, railway tracks and locomotives are being rehabilitated, allowing access to isolated communities.
According to José Lorenzo García, provincial delegate of the Ministry of Transportation, work is currently being carried out on the railway branches in the municipality of Jatibonico and other areas of the territory.
“The Sancti Spíritus Railway and Bridge Unit (UEB) is currently rehabilitating a group of sections on the central line, which of course falls under the province of Sancti Spíritus. They are replacing sleepers and rails, which is the country’s priority today. And of course, trains travel through there every day.”
