New vehicles will bolster public transport in Sancti Spíritus

New vehicles will soon be operating in several municipalities of Sancti Spíritus as part of a project by the Colonel Francisco Aguiar Rodríguez Military Industrial Enterprise, backed by the Public Transport Development Fund.

Sergio Elías Milian Pérez, director of the Taxis Cuba agency in the province, noted that “it was decided to allocate a batch of 25 eco-vehicles to Sancti Spíritus; thirteen are currently at the depot, and we are in the process of registering them and taking them through the ETA—what people commonly call the *Somatón* [vehicle inspection center]. Of the thirteen eco-vehicles currently at the depot, four are going to the municipality of Fomento, four to Jatibonico, four to Taguasco, and one will be delivered to Cabaiguán to complete a set of five eco-vehicles there.

“We are working with local transport officials, municipal administrators, and others to select the personnel who will operate these vehicles, as well as to determine where they will be parked and where charging stations will be located.

“Starting tomorrow, we begin applying the required decals, signage, Taxis Cuba logos, and fare schedules to the vehicles. The routes they will serve have already been defined for each municipality.”
