Minister of Tourism confirms facilities for travel to Cuba

Cuba will implement the electronic visa system in tourism as from May 6, announced Juan Carlos Granda, head of the sector, during the opening ceremony of the 42nd edition of the International Tourism Fair FITCuba 2024, which was attended by Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba.

According to reports, this measure will be maintained until June 30, with facilities for tour operators and travel agencies to quickly process customer requests from any mobile device.

García Granda highlighted the contributions of this action to the positioning of Cuba as a tourist destination at a global level and the impact it will have on the increase in the flow of visitors, once it is implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Directorate of Identification, Immigration and Foreigners of the Ministry of the Interior.

This event will take place in the midst of a context in which the Caribbean nation continues its bet on the recovery of the so-called leisure industry during the post-Covid-19 pandemic stage, and when Jardines del Rey stands out as the only tourist enclave in the largest of the Antilles that has surpassed the figures of international travelers in relation to the year 2019.
