Meliá Trinidad Peninsula excels in environmental preservation

The Meliá Trinidad Peninsula Hotel, located in the municipality of Trinidad de Cuba, Sancti Spiritus, was awarded the Provincial Prize of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment (CITMA) in Sancti Spiritus for its contribution to mitigating environmental impacts.

“Our hotel embraces the latest trends in hospitality and has a very modern design, but its technological system is also one of the most advanced in the world.”

Reinier Rendón Fernández, Deputy General Manager of the aforementioned Sancti Spiritus Tourist Facility.

“Today, it’s an environmentally friendly hotel, a highly automated one.

We aspire to be the first smart hotel in Cuba.

Today, we generate more than 50% of our electricity with solar panels and photovoltaic cells, and a battery bank that also stores excess energy at certain times and uses it when needed.

Hot water is generated with solar panels, and we reclaim rainwater, which we also use in gardening.
