Emergency Medical System maintains its vitality in Sancti Spíritus

The emergency medical system in the province of Sancti Spíritus maintains the vitality of its services, even amidst the complex situation the country is experiencing, thanks to the reorganization of resources and the commitment of healthcare personnel to guarantee immediate care for the population.

According to Eduardo Contreras Lara, director of SIUN’s transportation base number 10 in the province, the strategy has focused on reorganizing schedules and resources so that ambulances and the medical bus always arrive on time, even under the pressures imposed by the current fuel shortage.

As everyone knows, the integrated emergency medical system is one of the government’s priorities in the current economic situation, exacerbated by the blockade we all know.

We have all the necessary resources to maintain the required levels of activity. At this stage, these resources have been reduced, and this has been the country’s proposal in hospitals and all health centers, reorganizing their services, reinforcing medical offices, and strengthening polyclinics to provide care closer to patients in their place of residence. Contreras Lara emphasized that we have the necessary supplies to save patients’ lives in a medical emergency. “We have what is necessary to save lives, and we will continue to act accordingly. And above all, we have the commitment of all the workers and the will of everyone to maintain and continue working as usual, now with more determination than ever.”

According to Contreras Lara, the Medibus services remain active as an essential alternative to guarantee the transfer of patients to provinces such as Villa Clara and Havana.
