Cuban Drug Jusvinza to benefit Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis in Sancti Spíritus

Some 150 patients from Sancti Spiritus will benefit from the Cuban drug Jusvinza, obtained by the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of Havana, with proven results in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and hyperinflammation. This was revealed during the celebration in Sancti Spiritus of a workshop on basic preparation for the future application of the drug, a scientific activity that counted with the participation of national experts on the subject.
Doctor in Sciences Hugo Nodarse Cuni , Head of the Clinical Research Department of the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology of Havana, said: “it is a drug that has a sanitary registration recently, incorporated to the basic chart, it will begin to reach the health system of the province and somehow we are preparing the staff that will prescribe the drug to do it in the best possible condition” .
“It is a drug that brings benefits to the subject who has a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, helps him to control his disease, reduces the number of swollen and painful joints that usually trauma specialists who treat these patients evaluate, it also improves the quality of life, reduces disability, brings benefits from the clinical and social point of view to the individual with arthritis”.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic irreversible disease that erodes cartilage and bones and debuts in the early stages of the disease.
