Chinese donation to facilitate rice distribution to consumers in Sancti Spíritus
Three pounds of rice per consumer, sourced from the Chinese donation, will be distributed to consumers in Sancti Spíritus in the coming days.
Ariel Fernández, director of the Commerce Business Group in Sancti Spíritus, confirmed that “given the current stock of rice from the Chinese donation in the country, Sancti Spíritus province has been allocated three pounds per consumer, provided free of charge.”
The official stated that distribution would begin as soon as the grain starts being transported from Cienfuegos province. He also noted that an additional two pounds of rice per household would be sold at differentiated prices.
“Additionally, drawing on local rice production from the Sur del Jíbaro area, Commerce enterprises and local business units are offering two pounds of rice at 155 pesos per household in the provincial capital municipality. Next week, this will extend to Taguasco, Jatibonico, and Fomento, depending on rice arrivals. We are also beginning sales of this rice to the general public starting tomorrow.”
