Can Heberprot P provide better benefits to the diabetic population of Sancti Spíritus?

Sancti Spíritus remains one of the Cuban provinces with the highest rate of diabetic patients, as approximately 10% of its population suffers from this disease. This reality has led the province to pioneer the use of Heberprot-P, a Cuban drug with proven efficacy in the treatment of diabetic foot ulcers.

Since its introduction in 2007, more than 12,700 patients in Sancti Spíritus have received this medication. However, according to specialists, the percentage of amputations is still disproportionate to the level of treatment achieved, especially among patients living in isolated communities where transportation and communication limitations hinder timely access to the drug.
