Brigade from Sancti Spíritus contributes to the restoration of electrical service in Havana
More than 40 workers from the Sancti Spíritus Electric Company are currently in the Havana municipalities of Guanabacoa and Regla, carrying out maintenance and restoration work on distribution networks; these networks have been affected by transformer overloads and deterioration, causing service interruptions for thousands of people.
Leading the brigade, Roberto Hernández Rojas, the entity’s director general, explained that the main efforts focus on addressing networks and transformer banks subject to high demand, with the aim of restoring their capacity and reducing service disruptions. “We are working in Guanabacoa and Regla, where all the provinces are supporting a specific municipality. The work addresses the overload caused primarily by two factors: the summer season—with its high temperatures—and the generation deficit and resulting power outages,” the executive noted.
