Health authorities in the province of Sancti Spíritus confirmed on Thursday the deaths of two people, one of them under eighteen years old, as a result of arboviruses circulating in the country.
Carlos Luis Santos, director of the Provincial Hygiene Center, specified that the deaths are associated with complications arising from dengue and chikungunya, diseases that maintain a high incidence in the province.
He emphasized that the health system has established protocols for the care of patients with fever and urged people to seek medical attention immediately if they experience any warning signs.
The provincial director of Hygiene stressed that, in addition to institutional actions, the active participation of the population in eliminating breeding grounds and in vector surveillance is essential.
