Agroforestry workers join recovery efforts in Santiago de Cuba

A group of workers from the Sancti Spíritus Agroforestry Company departed for Santiago de Cuba province to reinforce recovery efforts following the devastating passage of Hurricane Melissa, one of the most intense weather events to hit eastern Cuba in recent years.

According to Noel Carballo González, director of the company in Sancti Spíritus, the contingent from Sancti Spíritus consists of four chainsaw operators from the municipalities of Yaguajay and Sancti Spíritus, accompanied by their respective assistants. They will join the cleanup and rehabilitation work at the Gran Piedra-Baconao Agroforestry Company, one of the areas hardest hit by the hurricane.
