Rafael María de Mendive School Students are resuming their activities in their center

First- and second-year students specializing in teacher training are resuming academic activities at the Rafael María de Mendive School in Sancti Spíritus—the only center of its kind in the province.

According to the school’s director, Yorlandi Pérez Hernández, the students are currently following the prescribed curriculum for the term, combining classroom instruction with practical teaching experience; meanwhile, some fourth-year students have already begun working in classrooms within their respective municipalities.

Pérez Hernández noted, “We are facing a complex start to the academic year; we need to make up for second-year subjects that were not taught during the second semester of the previous year. However, we have redesigned curricula, lesson schedules, and classes to try to cover all that material during September and October, so that by November, we can begin teaching the subjects actually scheduled for this year.”

“It has been a collaborative effort involving area coordinators, specialists, the Teacher Training Department, and the institution’s entire teaching staff to ensure everything runs as smoothly as it currently is.”

He added that the faculty remains committed to enhancing the proficiency and quality of their graduates—a team that rises to meet challenges while remaining focused on training the province’s future teaching workforce.
