Project supported by Saudi Arabia and UNESCO benefits initiatives in Trinidad
To strengthen local capacities and support proposals that integrate culture, creativity, and responsible, sustainable tourism, Cuba’s third town is witnessing the implementation of a necessary, relevant, and high-impact project.
This information was provided by Lisa Robaina Acosta, an individual consultant hired by UNESCO in the “Caribbean Museum City” to launch the regional international cooperation project *Communities for Heritage* (Comunidades por el Patrimonio). Funded by the Ministry of Culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and executed by the UNESCO Regional Office for Culture in Latin America and the Caribbean in Havana, the project is being carried out in partnership with the Office of the Conservator of the City of Trinidad and the Valley of the Sugar Mills.
“In mid-June of this year, a call for applications was launched via the official social media channels of UNESCO’s regional offices as well as local channels in Trinidad. This call was designed for the people of Trinidad to apply for projects of this nature, offering access to funding and specialized mentoring for the implementation of these initiatives.”
