Egyptian Ambassador visits Sancti Spíritus
The Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Cuba, Sherif Reda Shahata, paid an official visit to the province of Sancti Spíritus, where he was welcomed by Governor Alexis Lorente Jiménez.
During the reception, the provincial official provided an overview of the province and expressed gratitude for the diplomat’s presence during a particularly difficult time for the people.
Lorente Jiménez highlighted the benefits derived from the photovoltaic solar panel kits received through the solidarity of sister nations; these have been installed in hospitals, nursing homes, and funeral homes. They have also been provided to children with health conditions requiring constant connection to monitors and other medical equipment.
The governor noted that Sancti Spíritus possesses strengths in fruit production, although industrial limitations prevent the province from achieving all its projected production targets.
He added that fuel and energy shortages are currently hindering the province’s development.
For his part, Sherif Reda Shahata stated that his visit to the region serves as a sign of his government’s respect for Cuba, as well as a message of support and solidarity with the Cuban people.
