Activities marking the anniversary of the Cuban Women Federation
Recognizing women who make the most significant and effective contributions—through their daily work—to the territory’s socio-productive development is a highlight of the activities in La Sierpe marking August 23, the 66th anniversary of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC).
These gatherings take place at workplaces across various sectors, as well as within local FMC units and delegations, attended by organization leaders and other guests.
In observance of August 23, the FMC in La Sierpe is supporting community cleanup and sanitation efforts, which are having a significant impact on sustainability initiatives.
The program marking this anniversary also includes incorporating gardens, backyards, and other productive plots into the “Cultiva tu pedacito” (Cultivate Your Little Patch) grassroots movement—an initiative promoted by the women’s organization in collaboration with the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution.
The schedule of municipal activities for the Federation of Cuban Women’s 66th anniversary also features induction ceremonies for new members, discussions and exchanges with organization leaders, and visits to workplaces with large female workforces.
