Cuba hosts international solidarity gathering

An international solidarity gathering with Cuba, organized by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), took place today in the province of Pinar del Río.

The event was presided over by Cuban Head of State Miguel Díaz-Canel and ICAP President Fernando González.

The gathering brought together more than twenty delegates from the United States, Spain, Australia, and various African nations, who raised their voices together to join the noble cause of defending the sovereignty and self-determination of the Cuban people.

“This meeting is taking place at a very particular moment, when the enemy is intensifying threats of aggression against the island and against those who show their solidarity; that is why it is so significant that you are joining us today,” González stated.

Speakers included Rosemarie Mealy of the organization Carlota’s Warriors; Claudia de la Cruz, Executive Director of Pastors for Peace; José López, President of the José Martí Cultural Association; and Etieron Edwards, a young Cameroonian student at the province’s Latin American School of Medicine.
