Sancti Spíritus pays tribute to Ramiro Valdés (+ photos)
Starting at 10:00 a.m. this Tuesday, the people of Sancti Spíritus paid heartfelt tribute to Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, Hero of the Republic of Cuba and one of the principal leaders of the revolutionary process, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 94.
The headquarters of the Provincial Party Committee hosted the tribute, which lasted six hours, during which residents of Sancti Spíritus from all sectors of society commemorated the legacy of the man who participated in the attack on the Moncada Barracks, was a member of the Granma expedition, and served as second-in-command of Column 8 Ciro Redondo, commanded by Che Guevara.
