From Manaca Iznaga to Russia

For her commitment and dedication to her studies throughout her four years of study, Saraday Simón Morales was recognized as the most outstanding graduate in the Pedagogical Training program in the province of Sancti Spíritus, specializing in Mathematics Education.

And so, this young woman from Sancti Spíritus was selected, along with students from other Cuban provinces, for an incentive trip to Russia to participate in the Scarlet Candle Festival in St. Petersburg, one of the most beautiful events commemorating the end of the school year with fireworks and a brigantine adorned with red candles in that city.

Moments before her departure for the nation’s capital, this reporter met with her and shares her impressions.

“I am truly grateful to my professors, to my Vladislav Volkov School, and to the Department of Training and Scientific Activity at the Provincial Directorate of Education for this unique opportunity to visit St. Petersburg, Russia.”
