Sancti Spíritus strengthens epidemiological surveillance in response to international hantavirus alert

In response to the international health alert triggered by a hantavirus outbreak detected on a cruise ship, the health system in Sancti Spíritus is maintaining active epidemiological surveillance, in accordance with the measures adopted nationwide to strengthen health monitoring.

Yurién Negrín Calvo, Deputy Director of Epidemiology at the Provincial Center for Hygiene, explained that control measures are being reinforced in the province, although to date there are no reported cases or cause for alarm in the country.
