Siguaney Cement completes production destined for oil wells in the country

The Siguaney Cement Company closed out April having produced 400 tons of cement destined for the casting of well casings in the country’s oil fields.

According to Gonzalo Aguilar, the director of the Taguasco-based company, who spoke with Radio Sancti Spíritus, they will soon resume repairs on the kiln, using alternative, lower-quality materials due to the ongoing shortage of imported refractory bricks.

The source added that, despite these conditions, they will continue production to avoid halting the process.

Furthermore, the company is making progress in strengthening agricultural production on its self-consumption farms, where they have just built a biodigester in the pig farm area. This will soon allow for the delivery of gas for cooking food at the Siguaney Cement plant.

In addition, photovoltaic panels have been installed on various buildings to generate electricity using renewable energy sources, with the goal of achieving complete energy independence.

At the same time, they continue to produce other construction materials in cooperation with non-state entities.
