University and Etecsa in Sancti Spíritus, a benchmark in business partnership

The University of Sancti Spíritus José Martí Pérez and the Territorial Division of ETECSA have consolidated themselves as a provincial benchmark in the university-business link, based on the development of the project “Artificial Intelligence Model, combined with software defined network technology, for the autonomous management of the ETECSA network in Sancti Spíritus”.

The initiative is led by Edisbel Ramírez Lobatos, a senior cybersecurity specialist at ETECSA, in conjunction with Carlos Lázaro Jiménez Puerto, PhD, Vice Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Technical and Economic Sciences of the university.

The project aims to apply artificial intelligence to the automated processes of the telecommunications network. “The first challenge is to replace, through artificial intelligence, the number of people currently operating the systems and to automate the processes. The project’s main benefit is seen primarily in the quality of service,” explained Jiménez Puerto.
